One of the more fun comedy horror creature feature franchises from the past 25 years has got to be Universal’s ‘Tremors’ series. After first appearing back in 1990 with Kevin Bacon the underground dwelling beasts then continued to evolve over the course of the next two movies, spun off into a short-lived TV series and then even prequelised back in 2004. But it’s been a whole decade since the Graboids have made another appearance. But ‘rumblings’ have now shaken out news that ‘Lake Placid: The Final Chapter’ helmer Don Michael Paul is reportedly working on a long-awaited sequel.
Here’s what Don had to say on his official blog:
“After I finish up ‘Company Of Heroes: The Fourth Reich’ I will be headed to Johannesburg, South Africa to reboot the ‘Tremors’ franchise for Universal. Big year ahead and I’m excited to keep it going with the support of all you genre movie lovers out there.”
What do you guys think? Does the franchise deserve a reboot?
