Grimmfest - as part of the BFI UK-wide season Days of Fear and Wonder and The Manchester Science Festival, supported by Film Hub North West Central - present three iconic science fiction cinema double bills by three of the most masterful directors working in the genre. These are TERRY GILLIAM, PAUL VERHOEVEN & RIDLEY SCOTT.

The events will take place in the suitably awe-inspiring venue The Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester. In collaboration with the events held at MoSI, R.A.D (Retro & Dangerous) will be holding a double bill screening at Gorilla of Beetlejuice & Hocus Pocus. R.A.D is our younger sibling known for screening some of the most explosive old-school cinema in the Manchester area. Museum of science & Industry Each evening will kick off with a special introduction from guest speakers at 6.30pm.

Films will start prompt 7.00pm with a 30min interval between films. Tickets for each special double bill event will cost £12.50 or a three event pass will cost £30.00. (Booking fees apply) Tickets can be purchased on the door but to avoid disappointment we recommend pre-booking from www.grimmfest.com.

Wed 29th Oct - Terry Gilliam Double Bill Brazil-Our first night at MOSI focuses on the vast imagination of ex python Terry Gilliam with two of his finest Sci-fi moments. First up is arguably Gilliamís finest moment, and one of the best and strangest Sci-fiís of all time BRAZIL; in this film Gilliam serves up an imaginative post-Orwellian reimagining of 1984 that could only come from his directorial mind! 12 Monkeys- In this action packed Sci-fi epic, Bruce Willis is sent back in time from his future world to discover who was responsible for creating a virus that wiped out most of the human population.

Thurs 30th Oct - Paul Verhoeven Double Bill Total Recall- Our second night at the museum hones in on one of the best Sci-Fi action film director's in the world, Paul Verhoeven. Follow Douglas Quiad (action behemoth Arnold Schwarzenegger) into the distant future where a trip to a fake memory implanting facility known as ReKall leaves him unsure of which reality he resides in. Starship Troopers- A transplanetary battle between humans and bugs. Would you like to know more? Join Johnny Rico (Casper Van Dien) and the rest of the federation or this military Sci-fi action classic!

Fri 31st Oct - Ridley Scott Double Bill Alien- Ending our residency at MoSI on Halloween night will be two classic Sci-fi horror entries from the unrivalled Alien Saga by Ridley Scott! First up is the original chest bursting, acid blooded Sci-fi horror Alien. Following the commercial vessel Nostromo, it recieves a distress call from an unexplored planet. After searching for survivors, the crew heads home only to realise that a deadly bioform has joined them and terror ensues! Prometheus- Tapping off our night is the divisive prequel to Alien, Prometheus!

Planting seeds for the rest of the franchise, Prometheus follows a team of explorers trying to discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race. This project is supported by Film Hub North West Centtral as part of the BFI UK-wide season 'Days of Fear and Wonder and the Manchester Science Festival. Gorilla- R.A.D Presents The doors will open at 6pm and the first screening will start at 6.30pm, with the curfew at 10pm.

Tickets will be £8.00 in advance, and there'll be plenty of Halloween themed movie food. Fri 31st Oct- R.A.D presents Hocus Pocus/Beetlejuice Double Bill Beetlejuice - As a recently dead couple, Barbara and Adam Maitland are left house bound until the bureaucracy of the after life sets them free. Until then, they must deal with some unwanted company in their home. But how do you scare a family like the Deetzes? Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice! Beetlejuice!

Hocus Pocus - After three centuries, three witch sisters are resurrected in Salem Massachusetts on Halloween night, and it is up to two teen-agers, a young girl, and an immortal cat to put an end to the witches' reign of terror once and for all.
