Tom Freeman (AKA ‘Freematik’) is the man behind the latest in an immersive comic book experience. ‘Dark Moon’ on the face of it may just be another thrilling sci-fi yarn but adding an extra dimension. Drawn, composed and lovingly pieced together by creator Freematik, ‘Dark Moon’ is a combination of both his love for music and comics which are unified in this unique way and which is now available for you to buy! “I’ve always been somewhat obsessed with the combination of sound and images to create a powerful visceral sensation” says Freematik. The initial ‘Dark Moon’ series is a 4-part experience, with each part having a comic, soundtrack, as well as the “Motion Book” version. It can be read just like a traditional comic, but has been designed to be listened to with a soundtrack, which is provided with purchase and which is also available to stream online.
‘Dark Moon’ is the story of seven survivors of an earth-bound asteroid collision, who are able to teleport away in time to survive the impact. They end up on a moon that was thought to have been able to support life, but before they can find out, their lives are threatened by the “native inhabitants” of Dark Moon.
And as ambitious as the project sounds none of it would matter if the horror comic wasn’t scary…”but this isn’t a problem,” says the creator. The first issue of ‘Dark Moon’ is now up and can be found at darkmooncomic.com.
