3 NEW ORDER PHOTOS

Mr. Ledger. Busy dude. At the moment he can't break away to do press for The Order because he's in Prague filming Terry Gilliam's Brothers Grimm. The Order ? previously known as Sin Eater (a title which I prefer, I think it has more resonance) ? is set to open September 5th. Hopefully we'll hear from him in the coming weeks. In the meantime, we have for you a few new photos from the film.

In The Order Ledger plays Alex Bernier, a priest perplexed by a series of unexplained murders. After the death of his mentor, Bernier sets out for Rome to investigate the circumstances surrounding his mentor's death. This puts Bernier in the path of The Sin Eater ? leader of the mysterious and ancient Order.

The press notes for The Order offer this description of The Sin Eater: 'The immortal Sin Eater's role is nothing less than playing God on earth by absolving the unforgivable of their sins outside the Church, allowing great evil to go unpunished. Burdened with centuries of evil, The Sin Eater craves the luxury of death. But who will eat his sins and grant eternal peace? Who will carry on his dark tradition and continue the work of the Order? As the young priest uncovers the answers and pursues these paragons of evil, he fights to save his own soul and that of the woman he loves.'

The Order is written and directed by Brian Helgeland. Co-starring with Ledger is Mark Addy, Peter Weller, Benno Furmann and Shannyn Sossamon (as Mara, the woman Bernier loves). As you may recall, Ledger previously worked with Helgeland, Sossamon, and Addy on A Knight's Tale.

If you haven't done so, head on over to the official site, TheOrderMovie.com.
