GOTHIKA MOVED TO NOVEMBER
JoBlo.com has confirmed a rumor that Fango had heard around the grapevine: Warner Bros. has pushed the release of GOTHIKA from October 24 to November 21. This surprising forteiture of the Halloween slot usually claimed by producing entity Dark Castle (which has already announced an October 29, 2004 berth for its next feature) is surprising, and while there has been no official explanation, it could have something to do with the fact that Fox just shifted its high-buzz ALIEN rerelease from October 31 to the 29th, which would have given GOTHIKA only five days as the only new horror feature out there. The Halle Berry-starrer now has the fright field pretty much to itself; the closest thing it has to competition in late November is Disneys family-friendly Eddie Murphy-starrer HAUNTED MANSION.
