SITGES FILM FEST ANNOUNCES 2003 LINEUP
Spains Sitges Film Festival, one of the worlds top genre movie showcases, has announced its huge slate of fantasy and horror features for this years event, running November 27-December 7. The main fantastic section will include Takashi Shimizus JU-ON 2, Nicolas Winding Refns FEAR X, Julian Richards THE LAST HORROR MOVIE, the Spierig brothers UNDEAD, Takashi Miikes surreal GOZU, Alexandre Ajas HAUTE TENSION, George (ANOTHER HEAVEN) Iidas DRAGONHEAD, the Korean chillers ACACIA, A TALE OF TWO SISTERS and THE UNINVITED and many others. Among the genre titles in the New Visions section are Stuart Gordons KING OF THE ANTS, Kiyoshi Kurosawas DOPPELGANGER, Karim Hussains ASCENSION, the Japanese horror/comedy NINE SOULS and AMERICAN CRIME, the new thriller from the makers of COOKERS; the Orient Express section contains BATTLE ROYALE II, Ryuhei (VERSUS) Kitamuras ARAGAMI, the vampire spectacular TWINS EFFECT, Takashi Miikes CHAKUSHIN ARI, the horror films NEW BLOOD and MEMORIES OF MURDER and others; a Curtis Harrington retrospective including NIGHT TIDE, WHATS THE MATTER WITH HELEN, THE KILLING KIND, the new USHER and more; a Mondo Macabro showcase with ALUCARDA, JIGOKU, THE LIVING CORPSE, etc.; a Sesiones Golfas section that includes the standout French chiler DEAD END, Tobe Hoopers TOOLBOX MURDERS remake, THE LOST SKELETON OF CADAVARA and others; and a Narciso IbaSerrador retrospective with screenings of his excellent WHO WOULD KILL A CHILD? and LA RESIDENCIA.
