ANIMATED DEATH DRAWS NEAR
Let’s face it: the depraved, violent universe explored within the pages of Chaos! comic book titles like Evil Ernie, Lady Death, and Purgatory are most likely never going to experience the leap to live action celluloid. That’s not to say there were no flirtations. Gene Simmons wants to bring Evil Ernie to the big screen some day. Reported once was that Tom Green batted around the idea of donning the frayed rock n’ roll jeans and leather jacket of that wicked undead teen named Ernie – this came some time after his success on MTV and before he got to bop Drew Barrymore on a regular basis. Alas, it never came to be. But in all honesty, did we really want an Ernie film?
Those familiar with the Chaos! comics knew the real deviant magic was to be found in the dangerous, jaw-dropping curves of Lady Death. And although gals with Death’s figure are a dime a dozen in Hollywoodland, someone’s decided to abandon any dreams of making her flesh and blood being. Instead they’ve opted to take a few years developing a full-length animated feature and the official website for Lady Death: The Motion Picture has opened promising a 2004 release.
On the site one will find character profiles, a tour the film’s various locale, wallpapers, and an on-line store with collectable cels from the film. Check out the site by clicking on the link above.
