URBAN GHOST STORY ON VIDEO
MTI Home Video has announced that it will release the British-made URBAN GHOST STORY on VHS and DVD April 27. Despite the title, this is not an opportunistic African-American-oriented film, but a gritty and evocative supernatural thriller made way back in 1998 (and covered in FANGORIA #198); despite strong response at festivals, it found no U.S. distribution until now. Written, produced and directed by Genevieve Jolliffe and Chris Jones, URBAN GHOST is set in a rundown Scottish tenement where a mother and her young daughter are haunted by spectral forces, and centers on their struggle to find belief and help from an uncaring society as the hauntings only get worse. Stephanie Buttle, Heather Ann Foster and Jason (WISHMASTER 3) Connery star, with a supporting turn by a pre-LORD OF THE RINGS Billy Boyd. MTI has yet to release details of any special features on the DVD.
