BAMcintek, the film revival portion of Brooklyn, NYs BAM Rose Cinemas (30 Lafayette Avenue), has announced details of its Bloody Hell: British Horror festival, running March 1-April 6. The impressive lineup of classic genre cinema from the UK features a tribute to the brief but celebrated career of filmmaker Michael Reeves, including THE SORCERERS on March 1 and WITCHFINDER GENERAL March 2, the latter followed by BLOOD OF THE BEAST, a documentary on the director by Pete Tombs and Andy Starke. Other titles to be shown include THE LEGEND OF THE 7 GOLDEN VAMPIRES, VAMPYRES, LAIR OF THE WHITE WORM, CAPTAIN KRONOS: VAMPIRE HUNTER, THE REVENGE OF FRANKENSTEIN, THE CREEPING FLESH, THE STRANGLERS OF BOMBAY, SCREAM OF FEAR, TALES FROM THE CRYPT and CORRUPTION, along with a couple of rarely seen short films. In addition, the March 30 screening of SCREAM OF FEAR will be introduced by author Steven Jay Schneider, who will be signing copies of FEAR WITHOUT FRONTIERS, the FAB Press book on international horror cinema he edited.
