TOOLBOX MURDERS PREMIERE IN SAN FRAN
Tobe Hoopers remake of TOOLBOX MURDERS, which stars MAYs Angela Bettis, will make its U.S. premiere at the first annual Fearless Tales Genre Fest, being held at San Franciscos Victoria Theatre (2961 16th Street) March 11-14. Hooper himself will be on hand to receive the Fearless Vision Award; also attending is another veteran genre director, Jack Hill, who will present a directors cut of his cult classic SPIDER BABY with six minutes of never-before-seen footage. The Fearless Tales fest will present 18 featuresranging from classics like Jean Rollins LIVING DEAD GIRL and Lamberto Bavas DEMONS to new indies such as KILLER ME, ILL BURY YOU TOMORROW, SACRED FLESH and the wonderfully titled FEAST OF THE PRAYING MANTIS and SLAUGHTERHOUSE OF THE RISING SUNand 25 short films, including many U.S. and world premieres; distributor Zealot Pictures will pick up at least one movie showcased at the event for DVD distribution. Also on the slate is a Filmmaking in the Age of Terror! panel, featuring guests including Fango scribe Calum Waddell, web monster Harry Knowles and others.
