LOTS NEW RELEASE DATES
The Summer wars are beginning and already disappointing news is arising. First, the Summer wars, which bring New Line’s Blade: Trinity head to head with Fox’s Alien vs Predator. Second up, reports indicate Lions Gate’s Man-Thing is heading straight to video. Finally, a date has been set for the re-shot prequel Exorcist: The Beginning. Read on for details.
According to Moviehole.net, ‘In other comic to film news, it mightn’t be good news for Man-Thing. According to the above site, it could be headed straight to video.
‘Don’t get your hopes up to high for a fall theatrical release for Lions Gate Films’ Man-Thing. HSX just listed the latest release date changes and it shows that the studio has removed Man-Thing from their schedule. Usually what this means (at least in numerous past cases) that the film is headed straight for video and DVD. We’ll keep an eye on any other developments.
Meanwhile, Fox has bumped Alien vs. Predator back a week to August 13th, which puts it right smack up against New Line’s Blade: Trinity. Will one of the studios blink as we get closer and move their film? Stay tuned.’
According to Variety, the problamatic and completely reshot Exorcist: The Beginning is now set for an August 20th release from Warner Brothers Pictures.
