DIRECTOR DROPS RING 2
Variety reports that commercials veteran Noam Murro has exited the director’s chair for DreamWorks’ THE RING 2, which was to have been his feature debut. Studio honcho Walter F. Parkes attributed Murro’s departure to ‘creative differences,’ with a new helmer to be chosen very soonpossibly this week. DreamWorks is sticking to its November 10 release date for the sequelbut as we’ve mentioned here before, with the similarly Japanese-inspired THE GRUDGE and DARK WATER already rolling for October and November release respectively, and now given this latest development, it would be no surprise if RING 2 shifted to an early-2005 berth.
