POSEY JOINS TV FRANKENSTEIN
According to The Hollywood Reporter, indie-queen actress Parker Posey has become the first cast member to join the USA Network’s new FRANKENSTEIN project. The series relocates the action to present-day Seattle, where a pair of detectives (one of whom will be played by Posey) team up with a sympathetic Frankenstein’s monster to battle the mad doctor and his new genetic creations. The pilot, which rolls in May in Toronto, was written by best-selling horror author Dean Koontz and will be directed by Marcus (TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE) Nispel for executive producers Martin Scorsese, Tony (24) Krantz and Koontz. The cable network has so far not made a commitment to a full series, but if it becomes a go, it would likely not exceed 13 episodes. Posey made her genre debut as an actress playing Courteney Cox in SCREAM 3 and also appears as a vampire in the upcoming BLADE: TRINITY.
