MORE SIN CITY CAST
Benicio Del Toro and Clive Owen have officially joined the cast of Robert Rodriguez’s SIN CITY currently filming in Austin. Del Toro had been rumored to be part of the cast since it was announced but only recently did his deal become official.
He will star with Owen and Brittany Murphy in the last segment of the film, the very same one Rodriguez hopes he can convince Quentin Tarantin to direct once he’s finished in Cannes. The same article that confirmed Del Toro and Owen also said that despite persistent rumors Leonardo DiCaprio and Johnny Depp were not part of the production – at least not yet. But that doesn’t mean the film is short on big names.
Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Josh Hartnett, Elijah Wood and Mickey Rourke are just some of the many actors taking part in SIN. In related news, head over to TheMovieBox.net to watch some behind-the-scenes footage from the film that appeared on Entertainment Tonight.
Assisting Rodriguez on the film is co-director Frank Miller, creator of the comic series on which the film is based. It’s that decision to have a co-director that led to Rodriguez resigning from the Director’s Guild of America and eventually his departure from PRINCESS OF MARS. Del Toro is prepping his directorial debut, THE RUM DIARY, with Johnny Depp and Clive Owen can be seen this summer in Disney’s KING ARTHUR. SIN CITY is set to hit theaters next summer.
