WHAT'S NEXT FOR JACKSON?
In an interview with Variety, Peter Jackson?s wife and writing partner Fran Walsh talked about the duo?s filmmaking future once the third in the LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy is completed. She revealed that they still plan to get their remake of KING KONG off the ground, and in the meantime hope to attract outside films to utilize the Weta FX studio and their other facilities in New Zealand. But their next movie will likely be something smaller: AS NATURE MADE HIM, a fact-based feature in the vein of their Oscar-nominated HEAVENLY CREATURES. It?s based on the case of a real-life New Zealand doctor who believed that gender could be an assigned trait. To test his theory, he switched the sex of an eight-month-old baby whose penis had been deformed in a botched circumcision, and the child was raised as a girl?an experiment that ended very badly.
