WEBMASTER TAKES DIP WITH MEG
Another fellow webmaster, Nick Nunziata from CHUD is turning movie producer, and today he tells his readers about it.
Nick’s decided to spill the beans on what he’s up to, if only because the rumour-mill is getting it all wrong. In due course, I’ll have to cough up details on some of the ‘filmish’ things I’ve been up to this year too I assume – considering how things get twisted and bent via the ever so dependable chinese whisper.
Meantime, Nick reveals that ‘An effort to make Steve Alten’s MEG: A Novel of Deep Terror into a movie has been underway. Yes, I optioned the rights. Yes, I’m one of the producers. Yes, Guillermo del Toro is one of the others, as is Lloyd Levin, Larry Gordon, and Ken Atchity. Yes we have a script and a director getting into the fold, but those details aren’t etched in stone and therefore do not matter at this time. As for studio stuff, I have nothing I can report right now as the film is only in the stages of infancy that are a fragile and unpredictable time for an idea. All I know is that it’s one Hell of a script, a huge movie. A tentpole movie. In the hands of the right studio and the right filmmaker it is going to kick all sorts of ass and the changes we’ve made to the book are numerous and really take it to the next level.’
