FOX COMMITS POINT PLEASANT SERIES
Variety reports that Fox has ordered the production of 12 episodes of POINT PLEASANT, the new series from BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER creator Marti Noxon. The show is set in the titular beachfront community, where strange things begin to happen following the arrival of a teenage girl who washes up on the shore after surviving a cruise-ship disaster. A pilot completed last spring piqued the networks interest, and Noxons script for a second episode led them to make the production commitment. Noxon will be the showrunner and executive-produce with Marty Adelstein, Neal Moritz and Dawn Parouse. An airdate hasnt been announced, but the show will be ready to air by the middle of the 2004-2005 season.
