LAST HORROR SCARES AWARDS
FANGORIAs first theatrical release, THE LAST HORROR MOVIE, collected a few prizes over the last few weeks. The horror thriller, a faux documentary/autobiography of a serial killers exploits, took home the Audience Award for Best Film at the Malibu Film Festival. The Julian Richards picture also captured the Silver Jury Award in the international feature film section of Connecticuts Film Fest New Haven.
‘Its unusual for an independent British film to be so well-received in the U.S.,’ Richards tells Fango. ‘Websites like Unitshifter, Film Threat, Aint It Cool News and magazines like FANGORIA, of course, as well as Rue Morgue, have really gotten behind the film, giving us some terrific reviews. But then again, America is the traditional home of the serial killer.’
THE LAST HORROR MOVIE will serve as the premiere release of Fangos new GoreZone Presents VHS/DVD line December 7, through Hart Sharp Video. Throughout the fall, LAST HORROR will screen in competition at several more North American festivals, including Calgary, New Orleans, Rhode Island, Century City, Eerie and the New York City Horror Film Festival.
