SCRIPTERS SIGNED FOR HUNTER ADAPTION
Variety reports that director Uwe (HOUSE OF THE DEAD) Boll and Shawn Williamson have signed writers David Schneider and Drew Daywalt to pen HUNTER: THE RECKONING, the latest in Bolls long line of cinematic video-game adaptations. HUNTER follows a group of people who find themselves imbued with special talents that allow them to battle supernatural creatures preying on humans; the movie goes into preproduction in February and will shoot in British Columbia. This project joins the completed ALONE IN THE DARK (screening at Santa Monicas American Film Market next month) and the just-wrapped BLOODRAYNE on Bolls slate; the trade reveals that Meat Loaf (THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW) was part of the latter films cast. Meanwhile, Lions Gate has confirmed to Fango that they will release HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2, which begins shooting next month, without Bolls involvement. Scripted by producer Mark (ALL SOULS DAY) Altman, the sequel is currently in the process of hiring a director. Robert (ANGEL) Halls Almost Human will handle the zombie FX chores.
