GUILLERMO TOO BUSY FOR THE MASTERS?
Mick Garris has given us an update on his current hectic schedule mentioning that he’s beginning prep work on his anthology series Masters of Horror. Reportedly involved in that series is Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro, but he’s up to his gills in a sundry of projects himself.
Over at the message boards for DelToroFilms.com, Guillermo stated that his schedule with Hellboy 2 and his next film, Pan’s Labyrinth, may not permit him to mess around with Masters.
‘I hope it happens,’ Guillermo says. ‘With the schedule for Pan’s and the pre-production, hopefully, for Hellboy 2 it might be impossible. We’ll see.’
Regarding the next adventure of the big red guy and the B.P.R.D., Guillermo says that Abe Sapien’s playing a major part. Regarding the budget he adds, ‘At this time, all budget considerations are off. After writing the script we will budget responsibly and nip and tuck and negotiate with reality. At this point the story should be written in the abstract, perfect world of ‘make believe.’
A Hellboy animated series is on the drawing table; Guillermo hopes to close a deal on that this spring.
