Roost Takes Flight From Vitagraph
FANGORIA has learned that Ti Wests acclaimed indie THE ROOST will be getting theatrical exposure from Vitagraph Films, the savvy distribution company that previously scored at turnstiles with Takashi Miikes AUDITION and Don Coscarellis BUBBA HO-TEP. Company chief David Shultz tells Fango that he will begin a BUBBA HO-TEP-style grassroots campaign for the film in late summer/early fall. Pick up FANGORIA #246 (on sale August 16) for a preview. Lucky fans in California can see THE ROOST at the Los Angeles Film Festival, where the movie will screen at 11:30 p.m. tonight and again next Wednesday, June 22 at 9:30 p.m., both at the Laemmle Sunset 5 (8000 West Sunset Boulevard). You can also catch a ROOST showing at Montreals Fantasia film festival, running July 7-25, with West in attendance, and see the movies official website here. Vitagraph, meanwhile, begins releasing Alex de la Iglesia’s PERFECT CRIME in August.
