Fraser Hints Mummy 3
Brendan Fraser was in Shanghai this weekend and mentioned that a script for The Mummy 3 exists, but he was not allowed to announce it officially. Fraser expects part of Universal’s third installment to be shot in China/Asia.
Fraser previously starred in The Mummy and The Mummy Returns opposite Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, Arnold Vosloo, Oded Fehr, Patricia Velasquez and The Rock.
Fraser also announced he will do a movie called Children of Guangxi in China, with director Roger Spottiswoode (The 6th Day, Tomorrow Never Dies) and the producer of Cocoon.
Set in Shanghai in 1937, the film centers on a journalist who resisted to pay attention to the Japanese invasion of China and later had a change of heart after witnessing the horror of the Nanjing Massacre. Later, he led some 50 to 60 war orphanages to safety.
The script is by Paul Haggis (Million Dollar Baby). Chow Yun-Fat and Michelle Yeoh may also star.
