Watch for the Tornado!
Saturday, June 25th, from 9-11 PM EST, the Sci-Fi Channel will finally achieve zen with the premiere of one of the most outlandishly absurd movies theyve ever rolled out. That movie is Tornado: Nature Unleashed. Wait, a tornado movie? But this is a horror movie website. What does a natural disaster movie have to do with horror? What if it told you that its a supernatural disaster movie?
Tornado: Nature Unleashed stars Daniel Bernhardt (Matrix: Reloaded) as a news cameraman sent on assignment to Romania where he learns that he is a predestined savior that must stop a devil cult from conjuring a satanic super tornado designed to rid the world of gypsies.
Who could come up with such a patently absurd concept and actually get it filmed? Who else but Nu Image, the same magical production company that has given us everything from Shark Attack 3: Megalodon, Larva, Mansquito, Skeleton Man, and last weekends Hammerhead: Shark Frenzy.
Between the astoundingly cornball plot and the sheer badness of the movie, Tornado is an F5 on the Fujita Scale of unintentional comedy.
By the way, the Sci-Fi Channel is only giving the movie a single airing with no encores. Whenever the Sci-Fi Channel does that it pretty much means that even they’re embarrassed to be airing it. If you miss it then youll have to wait until it gets released to DVD on July 19th simply as Tornado. What does it say that the plot description for the film found on the back of the screener box and on the Sci-Fi Channels own website describes an entirely different film than what they actually made?
