Monster House in 3-D!
Columbia Pictures’ Monster House will be released in 3-D on 100 digital screens day-and-date with its national release July 21, 2006, according to the Hollywood Reporter. ‘Monster House,’ produced by Robert Zemeckis and Steven Spielberg, is the second film to use Sony Imageworks’ ‘performance capture’ technology last seen in ‘The Polar Express,’ which was released in Imax 3-D. When ‘Monster’ is released in the summer, it will employ REAL D technology that allows standard-size 35mm films to be digitally projected in 3-D on regular multiplex screens.’ Gil Kenan’s film, which stars Mitchel Musso, Sam Lerner, Spencer Locke, Steve Buscemi, Nick Cannon, Matthew Fahey, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jon Heder, Kevin James, Jason Lee, Ryan Newman, Catherine O’Hara, Kathleen Turner and Fred Willard, follows three teens who discover that their neighbor’s house is really a living, breathing, scary monster.
