After reports that Baltimore filmmaker Francis Xavier, director of fear fare including the feature JOHNNY COME LATELY and the current TV anthology project NIGHT CRY, had died in an automobile accident in New York City.
Recently, however, we got word from a few sources that the whole thing was a hoax, followed by an official press release from Metropolis Pictures Entertainment that Xavier is still very much alive—a fact revealed when the filmmaker emerged from a body bag at the recent premiere of the NIGHT CRY pilot trilogy. The whole thing was a publicity stunt of very questionable taste, and we apologize for spreading the misinformation and helping perpetrate this scam.
