After winning raves at last month’s Fantasia festival, the psychological chiller THE DARK HOURS has been picked up for Canadian distribution by Capri Releasing, which will release the film across the country in November. The producers are currently shopping for a deal that will hopefully have the movie on U.S. screens around the same time. Directed by award-winner Paul Fox from a script by Wil Zmak, DARK HOURS (filmed as HEAD GAMES) is set at a winter cottage where a psychiatrist (Kate Greenhouse) who specializes in treating violent sexual offenders goes with her family to unwind from the pressures of her job. There, she and her husband and sister are terrorized by a violent ex-patient (Aiden Devine) with a score to settle. Canadian genre veterans Gordon (THE WOODS) Currie and Dov (JASON X) Tiefenbach also star. Look for more release details on this site as we find ’em out, and a set-visit report on the film in Fango’s pages later this year.
