This November, Josh Howard, best-known for his cult comic hit DEAD@17, has a four-issue miniseries entitled BLACK HARVEST coming from Devil’s Due Publishing. In BLACK HARVEST, described by its creator as “THE X FILES meets SMALLVILLE,” the small town of Jericho, Texas is thrown into chaos when 19-year-old Zaya Vahn, missing for three years, mysteriously returns with no memory of what has happened to her, nor of how she picked up some strange new tattoos. As Zaya begins to exhibit telepathic and pyrokinetic abilities, rumors begin to spread about the reason behind her disappearance—one of which, UFO abduction, becomes increasingly credible as strange lights begin to be seen in the skies over town.
“I was immediately drawn to Howard’s work on DEAD@17 a few years ago in San Diego when he had a small preview book for sale,” says Devil’s Due president Josh Blaylock. “After the book debuted, I approached him about crossing the DEAD@17 universe with my own title, MISPLACED, so when Josh approached us about publishing BLACK HARVEST a few months ago, I gladly took him up on the offer.”
“I couldn’t be more excited about bringing BLACK HARVEST to Devil’s Due,” says Howard. “After developing a relationship with them during the DEAD@17/MISPLACED crossover, I knew they were the perfect home for my new property.” For more information on Howard, visit www.joshhoward.net and keep an eye on www.devilsdue.net for updates on BLACK HARVEST.
