The folks at DrippingDead Films gave Fango the word that their first production, the gory horror/Western THE SHUNNED, has been picked up for distribution by Silver Nitrate, which releases it to DVD October 4. You can see and read a lot more about it at the DrippingDead website. And the company is forging ahead with its second feature, titled TOW. Director Christopher M. Downs, who is scripting the movie with Justin Gardner, gives the plot specifics: “The film starts in November 1976, as a 20-man search party desperately looks for a missing woman. They find her deep in the woods of Skidmore, Missouri; she has had her child physically cut out of her. Thirty years later, in the present day, a six-months-pregnant woman is kidnapped on her way home from work…[and] the atrocity of the past comes back to the present.
“My expectation is to begin shooting TOW in April 2006,” Downs continues. “Our DP is Jason Scott Cohen from Two PointSix Productions in Dallas, Texas; he is extremely well-known for his commercial work. A website is coming soon at www.towthemovie.com.” TOW’s FX will be created by Jeff Sisson and Ryan Oliphant.
