The Hollywood Reporter got the news this morning that Roy Lee and Doug Davidson are producing an adaptation of the story The Turn of the Screw, being called The Turning, for Universal Pictures and Vertigo Entertainment. Brothers Chad and Casey Hayes, who worked on the new House of Wax script as well the upcoming Blob remake but got their start on “Baywatch Nights”, are the penners.
The story is, of course, contemporized, telling of a caretaker who’s hired to take care of two young children who may not be entirely what they seem. Soon she finds that a malevolent spirit is the cause for her concern, one with a tie to their past. Spooky.
No director’s been named as of yet.
