There’s a new female slasher in town as Gregory Hatanaka unleashes MAD COWGIRL, an experimental horror feature he directed from a script he wrote with Norith Soth, and the filmmaker gave Fango a first look at her. Sarah Lassez, from Abel Ferrara’s THE BLACKOUT, stars as Therese, a young woman who works for the LA health department inspecting slaughterhouses and meat-packing plants, and is treated like a piece of meat herself by the males in her life. As reports of mad cow disease begin to spread, she begins to descend into madness that may or may not be brought on by the disease, and goes on a violent rampage against men. James Duval (DONNIE DARKO’s Frank the Bunny, who also co-starred with Lassez in the slasher flick THE CLOWN AT MIDNIGHT and Gregg Araki’s NOWHERE), Devon (CAMPFIRE TALES) Odessa and STAR TREK’s Walter Koenig co-star. An official website has been set up, though right now there’s just a poster, with updates coming soon.
