Fango got ahold of some photos from DESPERATION, the three-hour Mick Garris-directed telepic based on a Stephen King novel and script, which is scheduled to air Thursday, May 18 on ABC. Firstly is Annabeth Gish with some KNB EFX-created corpses; you’ll find Charles Durning sharing a scene with a real live cougar, Kelly Overton and Steven Weber (from Garris’ THE SHINING) fighting a vicious bird. Other Garris alumni like Matt (THE STAND) Frewer and Henry (MASTER OF HORROR’s CHOCOLATE) Thomas also star, along with Tom Skerritt. The director screened the lengthy opening sequence from DESPERATION at last fall’s East Coast Fango Weekend of Horrors; he’ll return to the Chicago Weekend March 4-5 to further promote the movie. Watch for an exclusive set visit in Fango’s pages this Spring.
