Independent director Chris .R. Notarile got in touch with Fango with word of his new Christmas-themed horror movie AXE MASSACRE. Set to roll next month, it centers on a family who move into an old Victorian house in a rural New York town, only to fall victim to a Santa Claus-garbed killer intent on murdering everyone there. “Mike O’Hearn—Thor from AMERICAN GLADIATORS and Superman in the fan film WORLD’S FINEST—will play my masked maniac, the Santa Slasher,” the filmmaker tells Fango. “And Niki Notarile [pictured], star of the fan film CATWOMAN (PRINCIPLES), THE DIAMOND EXCHANGE and several Bill Zebub films will play the heroine, Cindy. I’m aiming to release a promo prequel comic a month before the movie debuts; Avatar [the company behind many recent movie-maniac comics] expressed interest a few months ago, and I will follow up with them about that very shortly. In the meantime, we’re getting ready to finish up casting, and will be fitting Mike into his Santa suit early in the month of April.” Tony Dadika, Guy Dorian, Andrew Roth, Jason Reed and Thomas Daniel have already been signed to co-star.
Over at AXE MASSACRE’s official website, the movie is described as “not just your regular teen slasher flick… It’s a generational horror movie that is designed to touch upon all the classic elements of what makes horror so cool.” You can check out the site for more info; Notarile has also set up a MySpace page here.
