A CURSED SET REPORT

'JimmBeam' over at Dark Horizons has a quite revealing set report from the Wes Craven werewolf thriller currently filming in Los Angeles:

'They're shooting the opening scene of the movie today and tomorrow at the Belage hotel on Sunset in Hollywood. They were originally supposed to shoot all night, but the hotel forbade them shoot past midnight, so that's been the wrap time. Perhaps this is the reason, but Wes Craven seems to move much faster than most other directors in town. The opening scene is a costume ball for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) on the roof of this hotel. I don't know much about the plot of the movie, but I believe it's a werewolf film and I would guess that Scott Baio is playing either the lead one or one of them. All the extras are dressed as they're going to an animal themed costume party. Scott Baio has a wolf mask completely hiding his face, but surprisingly, it's still him under there.

Sheila E's band is playing this party, they've put girls in skin-tight reptile outfits on floating things in the middle of the pool. I couldn't tell much about what went on in the scene except that Scott Baio is talking up Mandy Moore at the bar, and she quickly leaves towards the exit with him following her. Mandy Moore is just in this scene, she is the first person killed similarly to Drew Barrymore in Scream. Apparently, several celebrities play themselves in this film, including Scott Baio, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense, especially since he's in a werewolf mask for this entire scene. Inside sources say that the studio did require several drastic rewrites of Williamson's script, and that it still isn't very good, though. It seems different from past fair.'
