Fango has learned that Mindfire Entertainment, the company behind the HOUSE OF THE DEAD movies and ALL SOULS DAY, has launched a MySpace page for its upcoming vampire flick THE THIRST, complete with new photos and the film’s first trailer. Starring WRONG TURN’s Jeremy Sisto, Adam (SERENITY) Baldwin, Clare Kramer and Tom Lenk (both BUFFY alumni), Matt (SCREAM 3) Keeslar and Neil Jackson (who will appear in Spike TV’s forthcoming BLADE television series), THE THIRST was written by Jeremy Kasten (who also directed), Wayne Mahon, Liz Maccie, Ben Lustig and Mark A. Altman. Jason Collins of Autonomous Effects provided the considerable gore and other special makeup; the movie is currently in postproduction.
Kramer recently raved to IF Magazine, “It’s an awesome vampire film! It has sort of a REQUIEM FOR A DREAM-type feel with the stylized lighting, [and] has something for everybody; vampires, sex clubs, death, destruction and love. My character is dying of terminal cancer, and she has to make a decision whether she wants to die—or whether she wants to become a vampire. I think you can guess which choice she makes.” While Mindfire’s site lacks much information, the featured promotional art predicts a 2006 release date.
