Below are the exclusive first stills from MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD, an independent fantasy/horror movie currently shooting in the UK which is described as “JACOB’S LADDER meets DONNIE DARKO.” The film’s cast and crew include veterans of several recent British chillers: It is the directorial debut of Louis Melville, producer of THE LAST HORROR MOVIE, and stars Jonathan (THE WITCHES HAMMER) Sidgwick, Andrew (THE BUNKER) Tiernan and Dan (COLD & DARK) Van Husen. Sidgwick plays Max Trisch, a Londoner who inherits a cottage in the English countryside and becomes mixed up with a mysterious cult, the Coslantians, and their charismatic leader, played by Norwegian actress Rita Kvist. Through the cult, and the intervention of a ghostly schoolboy in 1960s-style uniform, Max finds himself involved with Celtic legends and ultimately with potentially apocalyptic revelations.
After filming in London and Southern England, the production is now traveling the entire length of the British Isles to shoot scenes at stone circles on the Orkney Isles off the Northern tip of Scotland. MAN WHO SOLD THE WORLD wraps in early May and is expected to be complete by September.
