Following the acclaim for their first collaboration THE ROOST, director Ti West and producer Larry Fessenden will reteam on a second feature film, TRIGGER MAN. Inspired by true events, TRIGGER MAN tells the story of three hunters who mysteriously become the hunted. Production is set to begin in Delaware and New York City at the end of May. West returns as writer/director/editor and Fessenden executive-produces again under his Scareflix banner. THE ROOST’s Jeff Grace, who also composed the music for Fango Video’s JOSHUA, encores for West on TRIGGER MAN, as will ROOST sound designer Graham Reznick and FX artist Daniel (AUTOMATONS) Mazikowski. ROOST actors Heather Robb and Sean Reid will reunite as well, joined by newcomers Reggie Cunningham and Ray Sullivan in the cast. In addition, Fessenden and THE OFF SEASON director James Felix McKenney will take roles in TRIGGER MAN.

“I’m really excited about this one,” West says. “It is very different from THE ROOST and gives me a chance to experiment on a totally different end of the genre spectrum.”

“One of the primary goals with Scareflix is to never repeat ourselves stylistically or thematically,” adds Fessenden, who directed his own movie, THE LAST WINTER, last year. “This one from Ti West is very different from the other three Scareflix, including THE ROOST, which had an affectionate retro feel. With TRIGGER MAN, we’re going for a more immediate, more visceral, more verité feeling. This one should be appallingly real.”

Another new West film, THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL, is currently in preproduction with A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE executive producers Roger Kass and Josh Braun, along with Fessenden. In addition to McKenney’s AUTOMATONS (title shortened from DEATH TO THE AUTOMATONS), Scareflix has Glenn McQuaid’s GRAVE ROBBER TALES in the works.
