Eli Roth has apparently been in a full-on exile writing HOSTEL 2, as people were surprised to see him the other week at the 2006 MTV Movie Awards. While there, he spilled some of the beans on the upcoming sequel: “I’m writing ‘Hostel 2’ for girls — it’s going to be three girls this time.
They’re studying in Italy for the summer, and they get lured, and they go back to … well, we’re going to go back to a lot of familiar places.” The rest veers into possible spoiler territory so beware…Roth also plans to reveal that these “special” hostels are part of a chain and he promises to show how this organization works as a whole.
Morever, Jay Hernandez is to return, starting with a HALLOWEEN/PORKY’S-sequel-like opening, in that it “is going to start literally with the next cut, and you’re going to see [Paxton] at the same time. You’ll see that he’s totally messed-up from the experience. It’s completely wrecked him, and his life is in ruins.” Part of the film will deal with Paxton’s mental collapse. That last part sounds like a great idea, pretty much how I imagined it would go after the end of the first film.
