MTV reports that FINAL DESTINATION actress Ali Larter has joined the cast of director Russell Mulcahy’s RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION, the third film in the successful video game-based franchise. The film has also added additional cast in the form of singer Ashanti as “Nurse Betty” and Spencer Locke (from TV’s THAT’S SO RAVEN) as a “freaked-out teenager,” according to the site. Currently filming in Mexico, the movie has the three newcomers joining series star Milla Jovovich and RE: APOCALYPSE returnees Oded Fehr, Sienna Guillory, Mike Epps and Iain Glen in a story that finds the survivors struggling with the undead in the Nevada desert. Written and produced by Paul W.S. Anderson, RESIDENT EVIL: EXTINCTION is expected to hit theaters next year through Screen Gems.
