According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tobin Bell, known to hardcore genre fans as the SAW series’ serial killer Jigsaw, has begun filming a new R.L. Stine-based movie entitled THE HAUNTING HOUR—VOLUME ONE: DON’T THINK ABOUT IT. Co-starring Emily Osment (Haley Joel’s sister and HANNAH MONTANA star), the movie will be the first installment in a direct-to-DVD series from Universal Studios Home Entertainment adapting titles from the author’s HAUNTING HOUR young-adult novels. This story is about a girl who moves into a new neighborhood and begins to terrorize those around her with practical jokes. One of the jokes inevitably goes awry, causing GOOSEBUMPS-type terror to ensue.
Directed by Alex (INSPECTOR GADGET 2) Zamm, produced by Bill (ANIMORPHS) Siegler and scripted by BODY BAGS and NIGHT VISIONS veterans Billy Brown and Dan Angel, DON’T THINK ABOUT IT began filming October 25 and should be out next Halloween. KNB EFX’s Greg Nicotero is providing the makeup FX, and genre veteran Jacques (NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET) Haitkin serves as cinematographer.
