According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brittany Murphy will star in 3:30 A.M., a new horror film written and to be directed by Mick Davis for Milcoz Films and Future Films. Murphy, whose genre credits include CHERRY FALLS and THE PROPHECY II, will play a young woman from New York who encounters paranormal terror when she moves into a hotel in the country following the death of her father. “Every time you write a script, you can’t help but imagine someone in the role, and in the case of 3:30 A.M. it was Brittany Murphy and only her,” Davis tells the trade. “She has the range, the charisma and the intelligence I need for this very complex character. It’s a director’s dream come true, when you get the actor you want.” Davis previously scripted the Danish supernatural film THE INVISIBLE and the early drafts of this year’s American remake; 3:30 A.M. rolls next January in North Carolina.
