SUMMER MAKEUP FX IN NEW YORK
Aspiring makeup FX artists in the New York area are invited to take part in the Introduction to Special Effects Make-up course being taught by Rob Benevides this summer. Although its being held at New York Universitys Tisch School of the Arts, the class is open to anyone, and covers both the craft and theory of special makeup, incorporating hands-on work (all students will receive a professional makeup kit containing all materials needed for in-class projects).
Two sessions are being offered: May 19-June 27 and June 3-August 8, with classes held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-4 p.m. Benevides screen credits include I SHOT ANDY WARHOL, Alex Winters FEVER, A GUN FOR JENNIFER, OFFICE KILLER (pictured) and CLEAN, SHAVEN; students of his course may have the chance to work on a short film hes directing this summer.
