Remember the remake for the Romero’s ‘The Crazies’? Well Rogue Pictures has made the deal to take on the project, as well as Wes Craven’s next horror, 25/8!
It appears that Breck Eisner will take on directing responsibilities on the remake, taking over from Brad ‘The Machinist’ Anderson who was originally slated to helm, and Ray Wright is is having a go at rewriting Scott Kosar’s screenplay.
Romero’s original tale was about a small Pennsylvania burg terrorized after a plane crash drops a biological weapon into the water.
As for 25/8, Craven says, “…film unveils a signature villain, a serial killer who turns up 15 years after his purported death, to kill the seven children born on that fateful night.
“It’s more a thriller than slasher film, and revolves around a young kid with a very dark past involving his family and his father,” Craven told Daily Variety.
Production on 25/8 begins this April.
