Horror actor Sid Haig caught up with Fangoria to discuss his latest horror-related ventures and appearances. Including Rob Zombie’s upcoming ‘The Haunted World of El Superbeasto’.
Zombie announced Haig’s involvement recently on his Myspace blog. Recently at the Monster-Mania convention Haig had this to say about his appearance in the upcoming animated feature. “It’s not a very big scene at all; it takes place in a bar,” Haig tells Fango. “It’s crazy, it’s wacky, it’s a lot of fun. It was kind of like doing voiceovers for a [live-action] film, but it was cool, because the characters are so out there that we had a chance to ad-lib some stuff and carry on a little bit. I can’t wait to see the whole thing completed.”
Haig will next be seen in ‘Brotherhood of Blood’ and is also being eyed up for some other projects too. “It’s the kind of situation where people have asked me to do things, but they don’t have their money together yet.”
Sadly, however, he will not be appearing in the remake of ‘Spider Baby’, directed by Jeff Broadstreet, even though he starred in the original. “Jeff has talked about it, but certainly not to my agent or to me in any way at all,” Haig notes. “So I don’t know if that’s wishful thinking or whatever, but nothing has really been said.”
