The Hollywood Reporter is reporting (as well it should!) that Jared Padalecki star of popular TV show 'Supernatural' is in the final talks to get a starring role in the upcoming 'Friday the 13th' remake. The actor will play a lead character who investigates the slayings perpetrated by the hockey-masked Jason at Crystal Lake. Marcus Nispel, director of the 'Texas Chainsaw Massacre' redux a few years ago will once again attempt to bring his magical touches to this re-imagining. The script was penned by Mark Swift and Damian Shannon who also turned their writing skills to the 'Freddy vs. Jason' battle. Platinum Dunes is producing the New Line release.
