Entertainment Weekly have reported on yet another 80’s remake on the way. The announcement, strangely just after a disappointing takings at the box office from the recent release of the ‘Prom Night’ redux, has indicated that the 1981 Linda (‘The Exorcist’) Blair starrer ‘Hell Night’ is in the pipeline.
The original ‘Hell Night’, helmed by Tom DeSimone, followed a group of fraternity and sorority pledges into a supposedly haunted mansion, where an deformed and deranged killer really is lurking.
Screen Gems own president Clint Culpepper also mentioned to EW that the formerly R-rated films they’re currently looking at revising will be watered down to a more youth-accessible level. “If you are going to make a movie for a bunch of kids, you have to make it PG-13,” he said. “You try not to make a movie for an audience that is older than your protagonist.”
