WRONG TURN TV SPOTS
Due to a theatrical trailer that was deemed ‘too intense’ by the MPAA, early glimpses of the Stan Winston-produced ‘Wrong Turn’ won’t come from a multiplex preview but via safe, teen-friendly television spots that will probably save members of the MPAA a heart attack or two.
That’s news we all know by now. Is it a marketing ploy? The real deal? Only Fox knows for sure. If there is truth behind this, and I’m sure there is, it’s pretty asinine. After all, didn’t they start rating trailers years ago? A green header before the trailer means good, red means cover the kids’ eyes.
MTV began running a series of ‘Wrong Turn’ television spots yesterday…so now you know to look out for them. The spot witnessed early this morning played up on the whole ‘don’t go camping this summer’ shtick with plenty of flashy images and an oh-so-brief look at one of the mountain men in silhouette.
‘Wrong Turn’ opens in theaters everywhere May 30th from Fox.
