‘The Cabin in the Woods’ is causing quite a stir stateside it appears. The script from Joss Whedon (‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’) and Drew Goddard has been raising eyebrows in Hollywood and has been clouded in secrecy. I mean just what the hell is about, besides a cabin in the woods obviously. Well it seems to have attracted Tom Cruises’ attention anyway.
In an interview at Sci-Fi Wire, Joss Whedon stated that he has been chatting with Mr Cruise and the head of United Artists, the company pushing the project.
“We met with him to hear his suggestions, sort of his take on it,” Whedon says. “But it was already sort of in the pipeline when they bought it; that was the idea. We’re in pre-production. We start shooting in March, so the train has left the station, and so we’re just sort of, well, we’re filling up the train.”
Goddard who scripted ‘Cloverfield’ is also in the directing chair so who better to deal with the mysterious script than him – I mean no-one knew much about ‘Cloverfield’ until nearing it’s release date.
The movie is slated for February 5, 2010 release.
