Body snatching black comedy 'Burke and Hare' has finally revealed it's first still, although don't get too excited as it's extremely similar to the image used on the previous teaser poster. Both of which you can see and compare below. The John Landis project, starring Simon Pegg's and Andy Serkis as the title characters respectively, is currently in post-production and no word on a release date as yet.
"Based on the true story about the famous murderers, 'Burke And Hare' follows the hapless exploits of these two men as they fall into the highly profitable business of providing cadavers for the medical fraternity in Nineteenth Century Edinburgh, then the centre of medical learning. The one thing they were short of was bodies."
The flick co-stars the ever sexy Isla Fisher (below), Christopher Lee and Tim Curry along with a heap of British comedy actors including Jessica Hynes, Bill Bailey, Ronnie Corbett and Reece Shearsmith.
Landis was involved in a recent interview with USA Today where he stated that 'Burke and Hare' is indeed not so much a horror but a black comedy...
"...not a horror film.... It has horror things within it — it's about dissection and grave robbing, after all — but it's a very black romantic comedy, hopefully in the tradition of the old Ealing Studios' Kind Hearts and Coronets and The Ladykillers."
