INDIAN BHOOT HITS U.S
With horror from other parts of Asia making waves in the last decade, adventurous genre fans can now get a taste of Indian fear fare as BHOOT opens this Friday, May 30 in the top 10 U.S. markets (New York, LA, Chicago, San Francisco, Toronto, etc.).
This film eschews the traditional Bollywood approach (i.e. no musical numbers) to tell the straightforward supernatural story of a couple who move into a new apartment, where the wife begins to have visions tied into the death of a young woman who had been the previous occupant. Directed by the award-winning Ram Gopal Varma, BHOOT stars popular Indian actors Ajay Devgan and Urmila Matondkar, with a supporting turn by Victor Banerjee (who has appeared in English-language films like A PASSAGE TO INDIA and BITTER MOON) as a psychiatrist. Check local newspaper or on-line listings for theater details; the movies official site can be found here.
