Sony/Columbia have given us even more to look forward to next Summer. Lens Wiseman’s ‘Total Recall’ reboot will hit theatres on 3 August 2012 according to their new release date announcement. Colin Farrell (already on board the ‘Fright Night’ remake) has opted to take the part of Quaid, formerly filled by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Austrian boots. No word on any other castings yet including that of Lori (Quaid’s wife – played in the original by the young, hot and sweaty Sharon Stone (below)) and of course Melina (played by Rachel Ticotin). But the biggest question on everybody’s lips is will a three breasted hooker be featured this time around and if so will it be prosthetic or CGI. These questions and more will be answered no doubt in due time. Check out the deets from the official press release below.
“Total Recall is a new, contemporized reimagining of the science fiction saga. The film will be directed by Len Wiseman and produced by Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe, with Ric Kidney on-board as executive producer. The short story “We Can Remember It for You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick served as the source for the 1990 Motion Picture screen story by Ronald Shusett & Dan O’Bannon and Jon Povill and screenplay by Ronald Shusett & Dan O’Bannon and Gary Goldman, with the updated screenplay being written by Kurt Wimmer and Mark Bomback and James Vanderbilt.”
